A Wish For The World (In Collaboration with "Dear Climate"), 2015
Found/ Repurposed Materials: Tree, tire, 5 gallon bucket, picket fencing, caution tape, leftover plastic, PBR bird, plastic bags, paint roller, insulation foam cans, spray paint cans, string, cookies, clear plastic containers, anti-freeze container, aluminum gutter, bubble wrap, cardboard beer cases, flagpole ball, and dryer venting.
Additional Materials: Letter to viewers, 1600 nails, concrete, 400 "Dear Climate" posters, and wishes.
Dear Viewers,
For this project to come to life, it needs your wish. At the bottom left corner of each “Dear Climate” poster on the wall I have cut a section for you to remove. I invite you to write a wish to the world and carefully hang your contribution on the tree directly behind you.
Parts of this tree are still alive. It is my intention to turn your wishes into a pulpy mulch and use them as a peat moss substrate to root cuttings from the tree. Lets bring it back to life together.
Additionally, I have left extra copies of “Dear Climate” posters in plastic bags and under the tree as a gift to you. Take extra copies and hang them in your home, in schools, in the subways, in trains, send them to loved ones, etc. Lets help spread “Dear Climates” cause.
Thank you,
Adam Berk
